The tour was a lot of fun- just wish it had been two days so we could have gone to all of them. We made it to thirteen. Booties at each stop might be a good idea so that there is no spread of disease from one flock to another.  -Jean

I had at least 200 people in my backyard for the coop tour. It was amazing and so interesting to see all the families considering coops, building coops, thinking about coops etc. It was an awesome day. There was one family that had been to a total of 10 coops. I hope it raised a lot of money for the charities involved. Thanks so much for organizing everything.   -Holly (coop stop owner)

We made it to 10 of the Coops and enjoyed each one!  Each Coop host was gracious and patient with all of our questions - no matter how basic.  My only suggestion would be to make this a 2-day event, we were bummed not to be able to make it to make many of the Coops in Downtown Bend and East of town. Looking forward to next year!  Thanks - Sara

I loved the tour.  My friend and I had a blast!  The bright orange signs were a great help. We didn't have time to visit them all but enjoyed the ones we did get to. We were a little botherd with one coop's chickens  -- most of the chickens only had about half their feathers.  Not something chicken lovers like to see.  If you ever have a coop tour in Redmond just let me know I'd like to sign up. Thank you for all your effort and time.      -Linda
(editor note:  chickens often pick each other's feathers out, resulting in bald patches usually on the back area.  It's a habit difficult or impossible to break.  The chickens are healthy (maybe not pretty), and the eggs they lay are delicious.)

Being so far out (west of Tumalo), I thought I would get few persons but I was wrong.  First enthusiasts were from La Pine and want to be a part next year if they can get their neighbors to participate.

Yes, I was exhausted!  The weather was great, actually had a fire going in my fire pit for when the sun disappeared, chairs set up, a table with chicken cloth, chick statures, a chicken bowl with cookies, etc.

Met some very nice families, fun to share our interests and knowledge.     -Sylvia (coop stop owner)

I wanted to tour the coops as we are thinking about raising them. I went to three places trying to find booklets, but kept being sent somewhere else. I finally just gave up and went home. I wonder how many other people had this trouble?   - Carolyn

My kids and I kept track of the number of cars. We had 124 cars (with 3-4 people each), it was wonderful lots of good people.  I thing my chickens got tired of having their pictures taken.  We picked up 20 Blue Polish chicks 4 days ago and the kids loved seeing the little ones.  Lots of good questions, requests for more coops in Redmond. Lady in LaPine wants to have the same thing down there. We had people from LaPine, Bend, Redmond, Alfalfa, Prineville and Tumalo.   -Diane (coop stop owner)

We had 130 visitors stop by and visit our "Coop Town". It was a great day and we so enjoyed talking with other people about our chickens, turkey and duck. Thanks for all your work organizing this. Next year we should have a preview day for those of us who are coop stops so we can see other coops!     -Jeff & Maurita Crew  (coop stop owners)

"I got my book today & have mapped out the coops I'm going to visit (mostly in Tumalo, but there's one on the east side that has goats that my kids are begging me to go to).  Can't wait!  Thanks for planning this.  Maybe my husband will see how much fun chickens can be & will build me a coop!."  -JoAnn, Bend

"What a crazy, unique, kooky idea!  I love it!  I've filled in the Contact Us page to be included in next year's coop tour.  My chickens are bummed they weren't part of this year's event ...  cranky chickens aren't fun to be around."  -Stacey, CRR

"Really?!  A chicken coop tour?  I don't get the why people would want to go to coops, but I think the fundraising piece of this thing is a terrific idea.  I'm sending in a check to support the non-profits."   -Mark, Bend
